101 in 1001 rough draft

Hey friends, please comment and see if I missed a number or if you think something should be put in another place. Special thanks to hefnersbunny who I got the idea and list template from.

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days. (In my case - December 2, 2011)

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (i.e., no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (i.e., represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

1. Re-create Dad’s College Photo @ Shawnee National Forest.
2. Have a better relationship with my cousins.
3. Talk to my Uncle Jerry at least once a month, just because.
4. Get really meaningful Christmas presents for Mom and Dad.
5. Go bowling with my Grandfather.
6. Go to the family reunion in Indiana
7. Find out more about my Grandpa James, look up men he served with and learn about his commendations.
8. Do 10 nice things for friends who need them - doesn't have to be something big.
9. Talk to my friends from college in a way other than AIM and Facebook
10. Go camping once per season (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) with Jake and Aaron
11. Get a dog.

Romantic Relationships
12. Fall in love
13. have an all-day and night date
14. Be in a serious committed relationship when this list is completed.
15. Not compromise my love with someone too much.
16. When dating or showing interest in a woman, play it cool (this is a huge step for me)
17. Trust more
18. Go on a double date with a couple
19. Go on a blind date.
20. If the first date goes well, actually kiss on the first date (I never have)
21. Watch the sunset with ‘her’
22. Watch the sunrise with ‘her’

23. Make sun tea
24. Cook 100 new recipes. (0/100)
25. Actually get the daily recommended servings of fruits and veggies 5 days a week
26. Cook lobster at home
27. Buy a bottle of wine to save for a special occasion
28. Have a glass of Johnny Walker Blue
29. Brew my own beer.
30. Host a dinner party and actually cook the food.
31. Host a brunch and cook all the food.
32. Give a vegetable I detest a second chance
33. Make Boy Scout Dutch Oven Cobbler with the guys
34. Not always feel the need to order a beer with dinner out
35. Grow my own: peppers, spinach, tomatoes, and broccoli

36. Begin my career, be it a Naval officer, Police Officer, Sheriffs Deputy, etc. Something in the criminal justice field.
37. Receive a letter of commendation or other recognition for something I did in said career field.
38. If a L.E.O. (Law Enforcement Officer) Make a felony arrest
39. If a L.E.O. confiscate a gun and get it off the street
40. Sit in on an autopsy
41. Become certified in LTL (Less than lethal: Taser, Rubber Bullets, etc).
42. Talk at schools about trusting an officer.
43. Be active in the Police Benevolent Union
44. Do not waiver on my personal and professional ethics while on the job.
45. Beat cynicism
46. Successfully finish Field training and probationary period as an officer
47. Learn (or be working on Learning) Spanish and Arabic

48. Go back to Wales (the motherland) with Dad. Or another place of his choosing
49. Visit a country I've never been to. (other than the one listed above)
50. Go anywhere farther west than Iowa
51. Sample some legit local cuisine in a city I have never been to
52. See the Pacific Ocean
53. Get a passport

54. See all the movies nominated for best picture at the Oscars in the theater
55. Go to at least 2 concerts
56. Go to a Cardinals game in St. Louis
57. Purchase the complete Star Trek: The Next Generation on DVD
58. Participate regularly in an outdoor sport
59. Quit playing World of Warcraft for good.
60. Watch a foreign language film
61. Play my trombone again, or, re-learn how to play if need be.
62. See a movie, in the afternoon, by myself
63. Go to a concert.
64. Go see a play.
65. Go SCUBA diving
66. Go see a play on Broadway, will not count as number 64 as well

67. Become an Assistant Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America
68. Volunteer at an animal shelter.
69. Teach a merit badge for the BSA
71. Participate in a charity walk/run.
72. Go to a Jewish and Islamic service
73. Donate clothing

74. Finish thesis and get Masters degree
75. Weigh at least 180 pounds
76. Keep my cholesterol in check and healthy limits
77. Get a professional massage
78. Pass Illinois Police Training academy standards with ease: 1.5 Mile Run in 13:30, 1RM Bench Press 98% of Body weight, 30 situps in a minute, and a good sit and reach score
79. Read 1 self-help book.
80. Run at least two 5k’s
81. Do at least one pullup. Seriously even in my best shape I could never do one
82. Be happy with myself again
83. Wear a 32 or 34 inch pant size again.
84. Get my teeth professionally whitened.
85. Maintain going to the gym - for health, not weight.
86. If a L.E.O. go to the range with my service weapon once a week.
87. Buy myself something pretty that I don't need.
88. Get back into Judo, or another martial art offered where I live
89. Lose enough weight to be able to fit into my old clothing again.

90. Pay off credit card bill
91. Buy a car
92. Have at least 3,000 dollars in my bank account for 3 consecutive months
93. Pay off at least 2,000 dollars in my student loans.
94. Put away at least 50 dollars a month into a retirement account

95. Get a family portrait taken with my parents
96. Go to a political rally or speech for something I DON’T believe in, and listen
97. Join a new church wherever I move to.
98. Buy an antique piece of furniture
99. Donate $10 for each of these not completed.
100. Make a new 101 list
